As each new stage of the build brings us closer to the completion of our Lake South Community Village, we couldn’t be more excited to welcome villagers and begin this journey with them.

Our recent progress really shows just how far we’ve come since the sod turning of the Lake South site just over a year ago in July 2024. The project remains on track to be completed by quarter 2 of 2026, and the build is visually taking shape.

• We’ve hit a milestone – our four villa prototypes – villas 54 – 57, are now complete! Bringing the project’s vision to life, the completion of these villas offers a glimpse into life at Lake South, and we look forward to inviting you in the not-so-distant future to explore the villa you may call home.
• The concrete slab of the village’s community hub has been poured, and the frames have been installed, marking the foundations of this exciting on-site amenity – the social hub of the village. With an array of lively events and engaging activities, you can guarantee community connection and friendships will flourish.
• Overall, progress across various areas of the build is tracking well with the ongoing installation of framework, the installation of cladding – forming the villa exteriors, the completion of brickwork around the site, and developments to the interiors including fit out, painting and the installation of joinery.
• Over the coming weeks, the main focus of the build is to pour the remaining concrete slabs, mapping out the village’s design and completing this stage of the build.

As our Lake South Community Village starts to come to life, we’ve conducted site tours, showing our Company Members, Board Members, Executive Members, and local MP, Anna Watson, all-things Lake South.

Not only did these visits offer a glimpse into life at Lake South, but they also highlighted the important role of community villages as ageing within the community has transformed – similar to the local landscape with the construction of new developments in Lake Illawarra – another point of discussion during these visits.
